Blackface: The media has succeeded in bringing me to ground zero

Ahmedu Augustine, the singer better known as Blackface, has blamed the media for his dwindling career.

Alongside Tuface and Faze, Blackface was a member of  Plantashun Boiz, a music group, which dominated the airwaves in the late 90s/early 20s.

But the group broke apart and members went their separate ways in 2004.

However, of the trio, Blackface seems to be the one who has made less progress musically.

In an interview on Chude, a show hosted by media personality, Chude Jidenowo, Blackface said the Nigerian media has had a negative impact on his brand.

“The media has succeeded in bringing the brand Blackface Naija to ground zero.

“No Nigerian or any award-giving body has given me one award. I’m the one they don’t want to talk about; but it’s all good.

“I came into the music industry to make music for the fans. I did not come to the industry because I wanted to get rich.

“But as far as the people embrace the music, then who cares? I don’t worry about the media. I just make music for them. I talk about it; creepy agents everywhere. They are all creepy agents and I make music with them,” he said.
