Suspected Boko Haram members have carted away five tractors and burnt down two others in Ngelbuwa, Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.
A resident of the town, Kyari Konto, said when the insurgents invaded the town, they picked a resident whom they ordered to show them the houses of the tractor drivers.
The chairman of North East Commodity Association (NECAS), Yobe State chapter, Nuhu Baba Hassan, disclosed that three tractors belonging to NECAS Borno and Yobe state offices were affected in the attack.
He said the tractor under his custody was snatched from its driver at gunpoint.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Buni Yadi, Bitrus Mamuda Saleh, confirmed the development.
He said Muhammad Mustapha, the Chairman (NECAS) Borno State chapter, reported that suspected Boko Haram insurgents attacked their tractor drivers at Ngelbuwa village in Gujba and took away four tractors belonging to Borno State government.
He said the insurgents also set ablaze two NECAS tractors.
