Ibn-Sina added that the board would continue to sustain the fight against drugs and other intoxicating substances among youths in the state.

He commended the efforts of Hisbah corps, volunteers and stakeholders, for their commitment, adding that the unwholesome practice among youths had been a source of concern to the society.

The commander said efforts at ridding the society of the menace of drugs and other intoxicants would be sustained.

In a similar development, the board has also arrested over 100 youths, male and female, during a raid at Abdullahi Bayero Road and Zoo Road.

Narrating the incident, the commander-general said the youths including a 15-year-old girl were arrested while smoking shisha mixed with Indian hemp and using other hard drugs at some eateries and other recreational centres in the areas.

Some of those arrested who spoke to Daily Trust pleaded for leniency and promised not to engage in such vices again.
