FCT councils want revenue sharing formula reviewed

The chairmen of the six area councils in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have demanded an upward review of the revenue sharing formula in the territory.

The Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council, Alhaji Adamu Mustapha, who is also the Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in the FCT, made the demand when he led his colleagues on a courtesy call on the FCT Commissioner for Revenue Mobilisation Allocation Commission (RMAC), Alhaji Musa Tanko Abari, in his office in Abuja.

Alhaji Mustapha said the review would attract more developmental projects in the councils.

Responding, Alhaji Abari requested the chairmen to prepare a legal frame work and draft a document in that regard.
