Insecurity: No basis for sectionalising killings, it’s a fight for all – Osinbajo

Against the spade of ethno-religious killings, kidnapping and banditry across the nation, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN), has said it is imperative for all Nigerians to condemn all forms of killings, either religious or ethnic.

In a video on YouTube, the Vice President said that there was no justification for anyone to kill another under any guise.

He said “We must all condemn killings of every kind. I think it’s important that we condemn these killings.”

Wondering why anyone will justify any kind of killing, he said “What is the explanation for anyone going into a church to kill priests and worshippers?”

Osinbajo said killers of all kinds will be made to face the law. He noted that no killer will be allowed to “maim, kill, or commit other crimes” without facing the law.

The insecurity in the country cut across all the geo-political zones and religious beliefs.

With this, Osinbajo said there was no basis for sectionalising the issues that apparently affects all Nigerians.

The Vice President has consistently warned against the politicisation of (in)security in the country as he insists all lives are important.
