Kaduna poll: APC declared winner in 8 LGAs, PDP secures just one

Results of the just concluded local government elections in Kaduna State have started trickling in.

Elections held on Saturday in 19 out of Kaduna’s 23 local government areas.

Kubau LGA 
Malam Dayyabu Mohammed, Returning Officer (RO) for Kubau Local Government, has announced Bashir Zuntu of the APC as winner of the election. He polled 23,973 votes to defeat his closest contender, Malam Isah-Rabiu Imam of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 9, 038 votes and Isah Yunusa of the SDP who scored 530 votes.
Kudan LGA 
Mr Haruna Abdu, Returning Officer for Kudan Local government, has declared Alhaji Shuaibu Jaja of the APC as winner of Kudan Local government, having scored 18,129 votes. Jaja defeated Ibrahim-Shehu Doka of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 16,123 votes and Umar Taba of the Labour Party who scored 1,844.
Lere LGA 
In Lere local government, Alhaji Abubakar Buba of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been declared winner of the Lere local council chairmanship, scoring 36,389 votes to defeat Mr Dalhat Abu-Dadda’i of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)who scored 24,294 votes.
Zaria LGA
Alhaji Idris Ibrahim of the APC was declared winner of the Zaria local council chairmanship seat with 34,006 votes to defeat his closest contender, Alhaji Yusuf Sambo, of PDP who polled 14,019 votes.
Soba LGA 
In Sabon Gari LGA, Alhaji Mohammed Usman of APC was declared winner, after scoring 32,405 votes to defeat his closest rival, Alhaji Abdu Bello of PDP who scored 13,777 votes.

Sanga LGA

Honorable Bisallah Malam of the APC has been returned the winner of the just concluded Chairmanship election in Sanga LG. Announcing the results, the Returning Officer said the APC candidate scored 21,854 votes to defeat the PDP which scored 12,832

Jema’a LGA

Yunana Markus Barde of APC won the Chairmanship election polling 24,255 to defeat the PDP candidate and incumbent Chairman, Peter Danjuma Averik, who polled 23,215 votes.

The returning officer, Dr. Sunday Ibrahim, announced the results.

Kaura LGA

In Kaura, Prof. Katoh Ishaya, the returning officer announced the PDP candidate, Matthias Siman, as winner of the election having polled 19,511 against Adamu Donatus of the APC who polled 10,941 votes.

There are ten wards in Kaura local government and the PDP won nine councillor seats while the APC won one.

Kagarko LGA

The returning office, Dr. Musa Balarabe Makarfi, announced that the APC candidate, Hon. Nasara Rabo, polled 20,558 to defeat his closest rival of the PDP, Caleb Pius, who polled 14,494.
