The Executive Chairman of Langtang North Local Government Council of Plateau State, Hon. Ubandoma Joshua Laven, has raised the alarm over a “planned terrorist attack” on both Langtang North and Langtang South local government areas.
Briefing newsmen on Saturday in Jos, the Plateau State capital on the threat to the Tarok nation, the Chairman said they understood that those planning the attack came in through Wase Local Government Area and Kadarko.

He explained that he had contacted security heads and area commanders who confirmed the impending threat on the Tarok nation, adding that the security agencies should not only say they were aware of the threat but should do all they could to stop any form of attack on their land.
Ubandoma said, apart from only preventing any planned attack on their land, the security agencies should go to the forests, mountains, hinterland or wherever the terrorists are camping and do the needful.
He said the Tarok people would volunteer to go along with security agencies whenever they will do security clampdown against the terrorists since they too understand the terrain and are courageous.
He stressed that the Tarok nation remained committed to peace and that is why, in February 2020, they presented over 1000 small arms and light weapons recovered from the Tarok ethnic nationality of the state to Governor Simon Lalong with the aim of bringing to a halt the over 20 years of skirmishes in the zone.
Ubandoma called on the ethnic groups in the state to collaborate, foster unity irrespective of ethnoreligious division and protect their communities.
