Stakeholders seek to protect national parks against banditry

Worried by the increasing cases of banditry, kidnapping, and other criminals activities perpetrated within and around National Parks across the country, stakeholders on Thursday met in Abuja to proffer solutions to the problem.

Addressing participants at the one day workshop, the Conservator – General of the National Park Service (NPS), Dr. Ibrahim Goni said it has become very pertinent to address some of these problems and advance the course of the Service.”

“Regulations are veritable tools in enhancing efficacy and achieving the set goals and objectives of governmental institutions. Hence, I would like to crave your kind indulgence to make useful contributions to the draft document with a view to developing reliable regulations that will not only address the present challenges confronting our National Parks but a document that will stand the test of time,” he said.
