Speaking yesterday during the induction ceremony at the council’s headquarters in Abuja, Registrar of the council, Dr. Tajudeen Sanusi, warned the graduands against participating in industrial actions during their housemanship as it could lead to interruption of their postings.
He said embarking on strike actions by house officers would lead to repeat of the postings without remuneration.
Chairman of the council, Prof. Abba Waziri Hassan, enjoined the inductees to abide by the ethics of the profession.
He called on state governments to improve facilities for housemanship to ensure quality service delivery, and also curb brain drain.
Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, said medical and dental professions require continuous training and learning, adding that acquiring and increasing knowledge and skills should be a lifelong endeavour.
