A lawyer and university lecturer, Barrister Wahab Shittu, has described the late Mohammed Fawehinmi, eldest son of late Chief Gani Fawehinmi (SAN), as a perfect gentleman.
On his part, Lagos radical lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN), described the late Mohammed Fawehinmi as a chip of the old block.

Shittu, a lawyer to former EFCC Chairman, Ibrahim Magu, who spoke in a telephone chat with Daily Trust yesterday, said Mohammed Fawehinmi was a fearless advocate for rights protection, adding that, “His passage is shocking, but Allah knows best. I wish him rest in the bosom of the Lord.”
Shittu disclosed that Mohammed was committed to the human rights struggle despite his predicament as a result of car accident which confined him to a wheelchair. On September 23, 2003, while returning from his father’s law firm, Mohammed was involved in the car crash.
He saiod, “He believed absolutely in the philosophy of his father. He was a great advocate, but for his predicament, he could easily have stepped into the shoes of his late father or perhaps surpassed the achievements of his father.
“Despite his inhibitions, he tried his best. You can see that everybody who had encounter with him has something positive to say about him. Mohammed was humble, he did not look down on anybody. He was always ready to offer himself to protect human rights.”
