No person has been rescued two days after a suspected golf car plunged into a mining pit at Enyigba community in Abakaliki Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
The Public Relations Officer of Ebonyi State Police Command, DSP Loveth Odah, told Daily Trust this on Sunday.

Odah, however, explained that the command and other relevant agencies have been deployed to the scene of the incident to rescue the victims.
She further added that local divers were first to arrive at the scene.
The state command image maker said that poor visibility hindered the rescue operation which started Saturday.
Daily Trust learnt that the incident happened on Saturday night.
According to her, no person has been rescued at about 7 pm on Sunday.
“We learnt that the driver lost control of the vehicle and fell into an unclaimed mining pit which was water-logged due to constant rainfall.
“However, the rescue operation is still ongoing as we speak but we have not recorded any positive success since then.
“Again, we have secured another crane we are using at the scene,” she said.
Odah noted that the number of passengers inside the vehicle was still not ascertained as of Sunday.
Our Correspondent, who visited the scene of the accident, gathered that the rescue operation was still ongoing at about 8 pm.
The vehicle, an Ash colour golf, was spotted when the crane lifted the vehicle from the pit but it fell back.
The state governor, David Umahi, alongside the state Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Garba, and other stakeholders, including community leaders, were seen at the scene.
Also spotted at the scene was the Commissioner for Internal Security and Border Peace, Hon Stanley Okoro-Emegha, including the council Chairman of Ikwo Local Government Area.
