Seven more people from a convoy of travellers that came under attack in Rukuba area of Jos have been rescued on Sunday.
Operation Safe Haven, a multi-security taskforce maintaining peace in Plateau and some parts of Bauchi and Kaduna states, announced the rescue of the seven who fled the attack on Saturday.
The travellers were on their way back to Ondo and Ekiti States after attending Islamic religious event in Bauchi State.
Daily Trust reported on Saturday that out of the 90 passengers of the 18 seater buses, 25 were confirmed dead, 14 injured, 22 rescued while many declared missing.
On Sunday, troops of the operation in a statement its Information Officer, Major Isyaku Gaji Tagwa, said “On sunday 15 August 202, troops of the operation rescued 7 more victims of Rukuba Road attack on commuters yesterday.
“The victims have been taken to a safe place for medical attention and care. The troops are still on search operation to get the remaining missing victims, ” he added.
With the seven rescued on Sunday by the troops, the whereabouts of 22 of the travellers are still unknown.
