Bayo Local Government Area is among the 27 local government areas of Borno State, and is among the peaceful areas of the state.
The LGA has only one secondary school, which is domiciled in the local government headquarters, Briyel. The lack of access to secondary education is a great problem to children in the area.

Bayo Local Government Area occupies a large land mass with 10 wards with hundreds of thousands of people.
Students travel from far locations to reach this single school, which is now congested and leaving a large number out of school.
Many indigenes of the LGA have also complained to the government but there has not been any response yet.
It is sad to note that a number of prominent people are indigenes of the area, yet they have failed to make a case for an additional secondary school or even build one ; they have so far not done anything.
I’m therefore appealing to Professor Babagana Umara Zulum to look into the matter.
