Police arrest 6 suspected internet fraudsters in Nasarawa

The Police in Nasarawa State, on Sunday, said they have arrested six people believed to be interment fraudsters, who have been defrauding the residents of the State.
The Public Relations Officer of  Nasarawa State Police  Command, ASP Ramhan Nansel, revealed this in an interview with Daily Trust in Lafia, the state capital.
Nansel stated that the suspects rented a four-bedroom apartment at G.R.A, Keffi  where they engaged in cybercrimes and internet fraud until the police got information about their nefarious activities which led to their arrest.
He said, “Based on credible and duly processed intelligence, police personnel attached to Keffi Area Command got information about six suspected fraudsters.
“We raided their hide out and we were able to recover 22 laptop computers, computer mouse, laptop chargers and extension boxes.”
Also, he said a Honda CRV vehicle with registration number Abuja YAB 458 DC, which was stolen from Ajaokuta, Kogi State and brought to Nasarawa State by a suspected criminal had been recovered by officers of the command.
He explained that the stolen vehicle was intercepted by police officers who mounted a stop-and-search point at Gidan Kwano along Nasarawa-Loko road in Nasarawa Local Government Area of the State.
He added: “The stolen vehicle was intercepted and recovered by the Police and the suspect arrested has confessed to the crime.
“The Commissioner of Police, AIG Bola Longe, has directed that the suspects should be charged to Court upon conclusion of investigation.”
