The acting Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Bali, Taraba State, Dr Mohammad Usman, has warned the students against engaging in examination malpractice, drug abuse and cultism.
Speaking at the matriculation ceremony of new students, Dr Usman said the institution had zero tolerance for the vices.
He also advised the students to strictly abide and follow the laid down procedures and channels of communication, especially in cases of grievances.
He further warned the students against taking laws into their hands.
He said the management of the institution would continue to give priority to academic interests and welfare of students.
He also revealed that in line with the commitment to achieve set objectives the management had appointed an Ombudsman who would receive and investigate and mitigate complaints from staff and students.
He said lack of electricity supply from the national grid was causing the institution more money to run its programmes due to cost of diesel and maintenance of power generating plants.
