IPOB sit-at-home order lacks wisdom – Group

The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL) has cautioned the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) against locking down the South East zone.

South East Trust recalls that IPOB, in a statement signed by its spokesman, Mr. Emma Powerful, had threatened to shut down the entire South East on Mondays beginning from August 9 until its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, is released by the federal government unconditionally.

In a statement signed by Goodluck Ibem and Kanice Igwe, COSEYL President General and Secretary General, respectively, the group said there was “no wisdom in shutting down the region” and advised IPOB to cancel the plan

“COSEYL urges the group to, in the interest of the South East region, review its latest policy directive given the current harsh economic realities biting hard on not only Ndigbo but the entire nation at such an excruciating moment.

“Shutting down the region and economic activities thereof does nobody or group any good and is therefore not a win-win case at a time like this,” it said.
