Kano State Government has shut five private health facilities over failure to renew their annual operating licenses in the state.
The Executive Secretary, Private Health Institution Management Agency (PHIMA) Dr Usman Tijjani Aliyu announced this on Thursday.

According to him the five facilities include Fairuz Islamic Chemist, Gara Beauty Salon, Islamic Barbing Salon, Tal’udu Barbing and Rumfar Shehu Barbing Salon.Dr Usman Tijjani Aliyu said all the five facilities shut are located at Kabuga and Rijiyar Zaki in Gwale Local Government Area of the state.

“It is an ongoing enforcement activity to ensure that all private health facilities in Kano state have updated their registration with PHIMA,” he said.
Dr Usmani Aliyu said the facilities shall remain closed until appropriate and proper registration is done with the agency.
He warned that any private health facilities or individuals discovered to be operating without valid registration licenses would be sanctioned accordingly.
