He confirmed that the state commenced the outright sale of the products from Monday as directed by the state governor, Alhaji Muhammed Badaru Abubakar.
Badaru is the Chairman of the National Presidential Committee on Fertilizer Initiative of the present administration.
Khalid explained that already, the company had disbursed over 100 trailer loads of NPK fertilizer to dry season farmers while many others got the supply of Urea from not less than 30 outlets across the state.
He said, “We have stockpiled our various stores and fertiliser distribution outlets with the commodity well ahead of the wet season and as you can see, farmers have started making purchases to enable them to prepare well.”
The official noted that the company was not after a high-profit margin, adding that NPK was being sold at N8,500 while Urea was N11,500 respectively, attributing the hike in price to the rising cost of products used in the fertilizer processing and blending.
