Three days after the closure of Ogboshishi Market housing timber and building materials dealers, traders have continued to count their losses.
Apart from the economic loss, the traders said they have lost their freedom as raids by security agents have become frequent in the market.
The market was ordered closed by soldiers patrolling the Orlu-Owerri road on Tuesday.
The soldiers were said to have ordered the closure of the market because the traders stayed away on Monday in solidarity with the leader of the banned Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, whose trials resumed that day at an Abuja High Court.
Orlu has been the epicentre of the clash between soldiers and suspected members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), which is the armed group of IPOB.
