The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has awarded the National Sugar Development Council (NSDC) the certificate of conformity to the requirements of the Quality Management System (ISO 9001:2015).
Presenting the Quality Management System Certification award to the council, the Director-General of SON, Mallam Farouk Salimi, warned the council against non-conformances with approved standards.

Represented by Yado Felix, the SON helmsman said the NSDC has joined a privileged class of Quality Management System certified and upgraded organisations in Nigeria.
“Your organisation has joined the list of government agencies that have unreserved confidence in their quality management system to the extent of inviting a third party to assess how you run your business against the requirements of the quality management system standard,” he said.
The Executive Secretary of NSDC, Mr.Zacch Adedeji, said the council is committed to put in place measures that would make the sugar sector to be more business-friendly, professional and transparent in the discharge of its duties.
“I’m appealing to other agencies of government to partner with SON in terms of the certification of their processes.”
The NSDC Director, Finance and Accounts, Alhaji Auwalu Abubakar, said that the certificate presentation by SON is a testament to the commitment and public assurance of the council’s quality and diligent service delivery to its customers.
“We are expected to maintain and continuously improve on our standards of operation in order to retain this certificate, the council pledges to surpass the expectations of SON by playing by the guidelines and standards set by it,” he said
