He explained that the total number of votes cast in the chairmanship elections in the 20 local government areas in the state was 396, 641.

“I want to say that APC won all the chairmanship seats in the 20 local government areas in the state, “ he said.

He said that results of the elections into all the 236 councillorship positions in the state would be released as soon as they were ready.

Osibodu expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the people during the elections, saying that the peaceful conduct made the election a success.

He equally applauded the security enforcement agencies for the role played in the success of the elections.

The party is also coasting to victory in the local government election held in Lagos on Saturday.

The election was held amidst low turnout in the 20 local governments (LGs) and 37 local council development areas (LCDAs).

No fewer than 15 political parties participated in the election.

As of yesterday, the APC had won in most of the local governments and LCDAs declared by the state Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC).
