PDP support group dissolves exco

One of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s support groups, Divine Mandate Group, Nigeria (DMGN) has dissolved its executive councils at all levels across the country.

The national coordinator of the group, Hon Umar Adamu Kawo, announced the dissolution on Friday in Abuja during a press conference.

He said inactive and internal wrangling among the members are the reasons for the dissolution.

Kawo said the decision was taken after a meeting by the National Working Committee of the group in order to forestall any breakdown of law and order among the members.

Kawo said: “The dissolution affects wards, LGAs, States and the National.

“Necessary steps are being taken to appoint a caretaker committee in the interim to organise congresses into various positions of the group.”

He, however, accused some leaders of the group of using the organisation to conduct personal businesses against the purpose of which the group was formed to support the PDP.

He added: “I am calling on the public to disregard any information or reports that the group has merged with other support organisations in the country. There is no such arrangement with any group for now.

“Any person or group using the name of the group for illegal or for selfish interest would have a date with law enforcement agencies.”
