Stakeholders from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State have unanimously agreed to adopt a consensus method to choose leaders of the party at ward, local governments and state levels.
This was contained in a two-point communiqué read by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya after the APC’s stakeholders meeting held at the Government House, Gombe.

According to him, the APC stalwarts have resolved to adopt a consensus to elect new leaders that will emerge in the forthcoming congresses of the party across all levels in the state.
Governor Inuwa had while speaking during the meeting, assured stakeholders that the APC administration under his leadership will deliver on its campaign promises.
Earlier, a former governor of the state, Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje, expressed gratitude over the turn of events at the APC stakeholders’ meeting, while expressing support for the consensus method to demonstrate the unity in the party.
The Acting Chairman of the party state caretaker committee, Mr Nitte Amangal, told stakeholders that the laws and guidelines of the party make provision for consensus in electing party officials.
