Organisers of the second edition of Green Carnival holding in Calabar on July 27, said they are expecting no fewer than 35,000 visitors from within and outside the country.
This is even as they have placed orders for, at least, 10,000 assorted costumes for participants from the state’s garments factory.

Some of the costumes include fashionable and festival apparel, while private suppliers are also ready with other kinds of wear.
Speaking at a news conference in Calabar, commissioner for tourism development, Eric Anderson, said the purpose of the annual event was to consolidate on efforts to regenerate the depleted vast forests and cities with 5 million new trees, adding that what will be demonstrated in Calabar would be replicated in all parts of the 18 LGAs of the state.
