The Chief Imam of al-Huda Masjid Byazhin-Kubwa, Abuja, Dr Rafee’ Busayree Al-Ijebuwi, has urged the wealthy Muslims to use the occasion of this year’s eid-el-Kabir, to help the needy in society.
He made the call on Tuesday in his Eidel Ad-ha Szalaat (sermon) after the two-unit prayer of the occasion.

According to him, Muslims should celebrate eid as Sunnah (Prophet Muhammad way) stipulates by helping those in need because there is hunger everywhere in the land and that no one should offer defective animals under the pretext of the inadequacy of funds.
“The sacrificial animal should not be made to suffer in any way and we must never engage in forbidden things to celebrate like visiting brothels and drinking alcohol among other sinful acts,” Al-Ijebuwi said.
He noted that people groan under hunger and inability to meet up with their necessities of living, hence the need to use the celebration to help the needy in society.
