24-year-old lecturer, 9 others turbaned in Kaduna

A 24-year-old lecturer with the Kaduna State University, Abdulrahman Muhammad Tanko, has been turbaned as the Yariman Dan Malikin Hausa by the Dan Malikin Kasar Hausa, Alhaji Usman Shehu Aliyu.

The event, which took place at Alhaji Aliyu’s residence in Kawo community of Kaduna North Local Government Area, saw nine others also given traditional titles. They are Alhaji Muhammad Aliyu as Madakin Dan Malikin Hausa, Alhaji Ibrahim Aliyu as Wakilin Dan Malikin Hausa, Alhaji Auwal Aliyu as Garkuwan Dan Malikin Hausa, Alhaji Aliyu Bashir as Dallatun Dan Malikin Hausa and Professor Muhammad Tanko as Danmasanin Dan Malikin Hausa.

Others are Alhaji Hassan Aliyu as Danburan Dan Malikin Hausa, Malam Naziru Suleiman as Wanban Dan Malikin Hausa, Alhaji Isa Lawal Kurfi as Talban Dan Malikin Hausa and Malam Aminu Lawal as Shamakin Dan Malikin Hausa.

In his remarks, the Danburam Zazzau, Alhaji Sani Muhammad Sha’aban, said the late Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris, planted many seeds of good people that had become productive to the society and therefore urged the new titleholders to be honest, tolerant and carry everybody along.

On his part, the Dan Malikin Hausa, Alhaji Usman Shahu Aliyu, prayed Allah to guide the new titleholders on the right path and appealed to them to fear Allah and use their positions to impact and promote peace and development in the society.
