About 2,000 farmers in Bauchi State have been selected to benefit from the state’s 2021 Crop Demonstration Packages.
The state Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed on Sunday flagged-off the packages, which would enable the farmers to cultivate a quarter hectare of improved maize, rice, soybean or millet.

He said 2,000 livestock farmers would also benefit from the newly-introduced Napier grass cuttings, while 20 communities would benefit from the local poultry upgrading and 90 communities from the small ruminant breeding program packages.
The governor expressed optimism that the outcome of the initiative would contribute significantly to improved varieties of crops, improved animal feed and local poultry and create job opportunities for youths.
