FG donates firefighting truck to Yobe

The Federal Fire Service has donated a state of art firefighting truck to Yobe State.

The Controller General of the agency Dr Liman Ibrahim said the deployment of the truck was meant to improve firefighting, search and rescue and enhance service delivery in the state.

He noted that fire havoc like many other disasters has the potential of threatening the well-being, economic stability and security of the state institutions.

According to him the truck is multi million naira asset requiring optimum maintenance and fuelling expected from the state government.

He requested the state government should strengthen the state fire service, through training of personnel, recruitment of capable hands, upgrading of fixed and mobile assets as well as enhancing their welfare packages.

Receiving the vehicle on behalf of the state government, the state governor Mai Mala Buni, represented by his deputy, Idi Barde Gubana said the donation would complement the effort of the state government in response to the fire outbreak and prevention.
