President Muhammadu Buhari has transmitted the 2022-2024 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and the Fiscal Strategy Paper to the House of Representatives for consideration and approval.
Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila read the communication from the president Thursday.
- Customs generates N1tr, seizes 2,333 goods in 6 months
- Reps seek to empower states to declare public holidays
The president in the letter expressed gratitude “for the enduring collaboration and commitment of the leadership and Honourable members in our collective efforts to sustain the restoration of the January-December financial year.”
Buhari said the executive worked very hard to sustain the early submission of the MTEF&FSP to allow the National Assembly sufficient time to perform its important statutory duty of reviewing the framework and strategy paper.
He said the 2022 budget would be prepared based on the parameters and fiscal assumptions of the approved 2022-2024 MTEF&FSP.
