According to him, the service is aimed at giving back to the society in order to reduce medical burden on the populace and put a smile on their faces.

“As we are all aware even the privileged ones in the society find it difficult to willingly go for medical checkups until overcome by health challenges or force to do that.

“This medical outreach will at least afford us free medical checkup which is the first step in solving our medical problems. I hope this opportunity will help us in further taking care of our health which is popularly referred to as our wealth,” he added.

Andrew David, the community leader of Lonwa, thanked the army for the gesture.

Victoria Ayiki, a beneficiary of the outreach  also thanked the army adding that it would go a long in improving their health conditions and reducing their medical expenses.

She said: “It is a good development. The service is to the advantage of the less privileged ones because we don’t have the capacity to afford medical bills.”
