The federal government on Thursday kicked off a sensitisation for 50 stakeholders from the seven North West states on national policy on volunteerism in Kano.
The two-day workshop was organised by the Nigerian National Volunteer Service (NNVS) with the aim of mobilising individuals to actively volunteer to participate in government programmes and initiatives to achieve sustainable development.

Olusola Dada, the NNVS Director, said the workshop was also organised to serve as an advocacy campaign and sensitisation on volunteerism.
Earlier, the Secretary to the Kano State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Special Duties in the cabinet office, Alhaji Musa Yahaya Bichi, thanked the agency for choosing Kano to host the workshop.
