The Niger State Coalition of Business and Professional Association (NICOBPA) has said that the insecurity ravaging the state and bad policies are some of the challenges facing them.
They, therefore, called on the state government to scale up efforts in addressing some of the challenges.
Speaking during a press conference in Minna, the Chairman of NICOBPA, Alhaji Muhammed Murtala Lawal, said: “Business owners and entrepreneurs can find alternatives to water and power supply where they are lacking but the major challenges that are sending most people out of business is the issue of insecurity and bad policies by government which we don’t have power over.
“We met with the Niger State governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, who told us that they are stepping up measures to secure the state event though the issue of insecurity has not escalated to this stage as of the time we visited the governor,” Lawal said.
He added that they have advised the state government to check the cross border criminal activities in order to overcome the challenges and called on state and local governments sharing border with other states to further scale up their security architecture so as to reduce the menace.
