BSTAN seeks provision of affordable homes for Nigerians

The Group Managing Director, BSTAN Group, Dr Becky Olubukola, has disclosed the company’s desire to provide affordable housing for every average Nigerian.

Speaking during the induction of new ambassadors for the company, Olubukola said 75 per cent of Nigerians can’t afford luxury homes and her real estate company is filling the gap to provide homes for all Nigerians.

Those inducted are Abuja-based standup comedians: Onwunarugu ‘Shortcut’ Ndubuisi and Osazee ‘MC Papi’ Aikhionbare; a gospel musician: Dennis ‘Da Music’ Obinna and an 8-year-old Amanda Chieloyim.

“As part of our vision to spread the good news of shelter as part of basic needs of life, we have ambassadors who are part of our brands every year who join to promote our business.

“To push a brand, you have to promote the brand. We don’t just sell houses or plots of land, we build dreams and the ambassadors are part of our dreams. We want to ensure Nigerians have a roof over their heads.

“75% of Nigerians can’t afford luxury because of the state of our nation. Therefore, if you are building houses that are quite expensive, you are building for nobody or rather, you are building for less than 30% of Nigerians.

“We are for the low-cost and middle class that need affordable housing,” she said.

Speaking further, Olubukola said building collapse is a result of a lack of quality control by regulatory bodies and has advised Nigerians to seek professionals to handle their building projects.

“Quality control is the answer for building collapses in Nigeria. Nigerians should be orientated on the right people to give their structure to,” she said.
