Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, has said that his administration is stepping up social protection initiatives to further cushion the effect of the economic hardship caused by COVID-19 pandemic.
Oyetola said this in Osogbo while inaugurating the steering committee on COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (Osun-CARES) set up to cater for the residents.
He expressed confidence that Osun-CARES would be successful given the way Osun CSDA implemented the World Bank assisted Community and Social Development Project (CSDP) with huge success.
The governor said the track record of the Osun Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA) was an indication that the state is capable of delivering on the Osun-CARES.
Oyetola said Osun-CARES, which is supported by the World Bank, was aimed at alleviating the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on citizens.
