Muwanshat College of Health Science and Technology Jalingo, has targeted 1000 people for free eye treatment.
The exercise which is taking place at the College’s premises along Barde Way in Jalingo, the state capital will offer free eye treatment for both men and women as well as children.
The free medical treatment was aimed at assisting the less privileged in the society.
Residents, including children, with various eye problems were seen trooping into the college for the free eye treatment.
The exercise which is being conducted by Jibwis Health Association of Nigeria (JIBHAN), Taraba State chapter was sponsored by a philanthropist and founder of the college, Alhaji Umaru Yola.
The state Chairman of JIBHAN, Alkasim Dalhatu in an address before commencement of the exercise, said the free services will include eye surgery, provision of eye classes as well as free drugs.
Dalhatu commended Umaru Yola for the kind assistance to less privileged and urged other well to do individuals in the society to emulate him.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to North East Trust expressed appreciation for the kind assistance being rendered to them.
Hauwa’u Muhammed, Hafsatu Umar and a seven-year-old Usman Muhammed all appreciated the gesture, describing it as timely considering the economic hardship they are facing.
The sponsor of the exercise Alhaji Umaru Yola told North East Trust that he sponsored the treatment to less previlledged for the sake of Allah.
