Nasarawa United have moved to second place on the NPFL table after they forced Enyimba FC to a 0-0 draw in the week 28 match played yesterday at the Enyimba International stadium in Aba.
Pillars who needed at least a point to maintain the second position on the table were beaten 1-0 by neigbours Jigawa Golden Stars after substitute Ali Kalla’s solitary strike in the 80th minute.
Although both Nasarawa United and Kano Pillars have 49 points from the same number of matches, the ‘solid miners’ have a superior goal difference of plus 11.
Leaders Akwa United had beaten Adamawa United 2-0 on Saturday at the Nest of Champions in Uyo to maintain leadership of the 2021 NPFL table with 53 points.
There were also home victories for Plateau United who defeated struggling Warri Wolves 2-0 and Lobi Stars who defeated title contenders Kwara United 2-0 after Mohammed Sani and Monday Akile scored a goal each in the second half of the match.
