A lecturer with the University of Benin, Maxwell Eseosa Aimuen, 33, has been shot dead by unknown gunmen in Benin City, Edo state.
Aimuen, a lecturer in the department of public administration, was shot dead on Saturday, at his home entrance in Isihor while he was driving into his compound.

It was gathered that his assailants shot him severally before fleeing the scene.
The deceased was engaged in the institution in 2015 as a Graduate Assistant.
He was said to have rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.
The public relations officer of the university, Benedicta Ehanire, described the late Maxwell as hardworking and dedicated university staff.
She called on security agents to unravel those behind the killing.
Meanwhile, the state police command public relations officer, Kontongs Bello, could not be reached for comment as calls to his phone were not answered.
