Top football agents and scouts from Belgium and other European countries are presently scouting for young football talents in the maiden edition of Galaxy Sports invitational scouting tournament in Makurdi.
The screening exercise which started on Tuesday, June 15 will end on Saturday, June 18 at the Aper Aku stadium.
At least seven youth teams, Galaxy Sports Academy 1, Atarah FC Jos, Jos United football academy, HGAE football academy, All Stars of Makurdi and Galaxy Sports Academy 2 are taking part in the screening exercise.
In the opening match, Galaxy Sports Academy 1 walloped Galaxy Sports Academy 2 by four unreplied goals to the admiration of the Belgians and enthusiastic Makurdi fans.
The Executive Chairman and CEO of Galaxy Sports Development, Mr. Austin Akpehe said the programme is aimed at providing a platform for talented Nigerian players to be scouted for clubs in Europe.
He said it is his own way of empowering the Nigerian youths who need such opportunities to realise their dream of playing professional football in Europe.
Akpehe expressed satisfaction with the performance of the players who are taking part in the four-day exercise as he said the agents and scouts will be spoilt for choice.
