Police rescue robbery attack victim in Akwa Ibom

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command on Tuesday said it rescued a victim being robbed of his vehicle repelled a hotel robbery attack and recovered two stolen vehicles from the robbers.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Odiko Macdon, said one of the recovered vehicles, an OPEL car with Reg. No. KEF 306 AA belonged to the rescued victim, Ekemini Akpan.

Macdon mentioned in a press release made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Uyo that the second recovered vehicle, a black Toyota 4Runner Hilux with Reg. No. BWR 561 HK was abandoned by the fleeing robbers when the police accosted them at the hotel they were trying to rob.

He stated that the vehicle had been reported stolen at gunpoint from Ultimate Filling Station in Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area.
