NDE trains 50 graduates in Kano

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has commenced a five-day training of 50 graduates under the Start Your Own Business (SYOB) project in Kano State.

Speaking at the programme’s flag-off on Monday, in Kano, Director General of the agency, Alhaji Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, said the SYOB was an entrepreneurship development training targeted at unemployed graduates of universities and other higher institutions of learning.

Represented by the officer in charge of Small Scale Enterprise at the directorate, Ms. Queen Nnodi, the director general said the essence of the training was for the graduates to know how to develop business ideas, write feasibility plans to secure loans either from government or financial institutions.

The NDE Kano State Coordinator, Ahmed Iliyasu, advised the participants to take the training seriously.

Ahmad Yusuf Sulaiman, one of the beneficiaries, thanked the NDE for what he described as “an opportunity to shape the lives of the beneficiaries” and pledged commitment to the training.
