Ogun to revoke lands used as dumpsites, by ritualists

The Ogun State Government has threatened to revoke titles on all abandoned land spaces used as dumpsites across the state for security reasons.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Environment and Chief Executive Officer of the Ogun State Waste Management Authority (OGWAMA), Ola Oresanya, said this on Tuesday in Abeokuta.

Oresanya said the state government took the decision after it discovered that several parcels of land abandoned by their owners had been converted to illegal dumpsites which were now haven for ritualists and den for armed robbers.

He added that the state government had directed its relevant organs to begin the process of revoking the titles on the lands in public interest.

Oresanya advised owners of such land spaces to immediately clear them of waste and restore them to their original states or risk forfeiting them.
