Atiku expands business with sack coy, bank in Adamawa

A former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, has commissioned a private factory in Yola, the Adamawa State capital with installed capacity to produce 9 million sacks annually.

The PDP presidential candidate also inaugurated a micro finance bank, Standard Micro-finance Bank.

Speaking at the event on Monday, Atiku said the newly-established factory would provide sacks for Rico Gado, his animal feeds company.

Earlier in his remark, the company’s Director, Shehu Abubakar, said the factory could produce 9 million sacks a year.

He added that Rico Gado, which used to purchase sacks from Lagos for packaging of its products, now has its sack requirement produced in Yola.

He noted that the plants were also conceived to address the needs of the agrarian communities in Adamawa as well as serve other numerous factories with quality packaging materials.

He noted that the plant was part of Atiku’s vision to industrialize the state and create employment for the young people.

He said a new Rico Gado feeds factory would be commissioned in Abuja this year, while a Rice processing plant was coming up soon.

He further disclosed that Priam Group had plans to inject more than $20 million in the economy of Adamawa State through investment within the next two years.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri commended Atiku Abubakar for investing hugely in Adamawa and for creating employment opportunities for Nigerians.

He reiterated that his administration was committed to creating enabling environment for business.
