SGF lauds NACCIMA on Nigeria’s trade dev’t

Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, has commended the strategic partnership between the federal government and the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) in trade development.

The SGF stated this at the 60th anniversary of the association in Abuja where he was the special guest of honour and also bagged an award for excellence and outstanding contributions to governance and nation building.

He said, “The federal government is committed to carrying on its subsisting partnership with NACCIMA towards the attainment of its key objectives of empowering an economically productive and innovative population as a major asset for the country’s productive base.”

Speaking at the event, the National President of NACCIMA, Hajiya Saratu Iya Aliyu, highlighted the various contributions to Nigeria’s economy including the building of trade infrastructure, creating market opportunities for brands, empowering Micro, Small and Medium scale Enterprises (MSMEs) while positively influencing public policies to promote the interest of the private sector in Nigeria and Africa. Hajiya Saratu also noted that the association diligently selected the eminent personalities for the NACCIMA award. Among them are the SGF, Director General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Hajiya Amina Mohammed of the United Nations, and Austen Bolanle Peters.

NACCIMA also introduced the incoming National President, Mr John Udeagbala, who is still serving as the 1st National President while Otunba Kelvin Dele Oye is the 2nd National President, pending an inauguration.
