Student killed in Osun auto accident

A student of Ataoja School of Science in Osogbo, Aisha Akinola Damilola, died on Tuesday in a fatal motor accident in front of her school.

The accident involved a Toyota Corolla car with registration number MUS571GB and a Volkswagen car with registration number LEM478TK.

An eyewitness who preferred anonymity told Daily Trust that the Toyota Corolla car collided with a Volkswagen and crushed the student on roadside.

Personnel of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), policemen from Ataoja Divisional Police Headquarters and officials of the State Ambulance Service rushed the student to Osun State University Teaching Hospital to save her life but she died on the way.

The Police Public Relations Officer for Osun State Police Command, Yemisi Opalola, confirmed that the student gave up the ghost inside the ambulance.

The spokesperson of the FRSC, Mrs Agnes Ogungbemi, said the accident was caused by over-speeding.
