The Wudil Youth Congress (WYC) has offered full scholarships to 15 orphans and vulnerable children of the community to have access to primary and secondary education.
The organisation said it provided scholarships to the beneficiaries through its Orphan and Vulnerable Children Educational Endowment Funds (OVEEF) programme.

Speaking at a panel discussion organised by the congress on Youth, Politics and Development, the Chairman of the congress, Dr Umar Shehu Umar, noted that the purpose of the project was to make youths responsible for addressing major socio-economic problems currently facing the community.
“We have a committee of five people in each of the chosen wards that comprise the village heads, headteachers, community members and representatives of our organisation to ensure fair placement and welfare of all the children under our care,” he said.
He stressed that in making efforts to address the level of inequality in the society, especially among orphans and vulnerable children, the congress provided a mechanism that would bring youths together to pursue a common goal that would push the Wudil community forward.
