Director-General, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Muhammadu Muhammed, says 2,353,647 people were displaced by flood last year.
He said this in Abuja on Monday at the presentation of NEMA 2020 annual report to the Minister Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development and the induction of disaster risk reduction equipment.

He said amidst the global crisis, Nigeria was not spared from other devastating incidents ranging from flooding, fire, insurgency, banditry, kidnapping, road accidents, pipeline/gas explosions, herders/farmers’ clashes, communal clashes, cattle rustling, building collapse which all led to the displacement of persons across the country.
He said NEMA was inducting a disaster risk reduction equipment for search and rescue across the federation.
