The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday arrested a former soldier, Adebisi Jamiu and 33 youths in Osogbo, Osun State capital for their alleged involvement in internet fraud.
The anti-graft body, which paraded the suspects at the EFCC base assured that they would be arraigned after diligent investigation.

The youths were arrested during a raid at Alleluyah Estate, NASFAT Area in the wee hours of Tuesday morning.
The EFCC operatives also seized exotic cars belonging to the suspects but some youths prevented them from taking the cars away.
The arrest of the suspects led to a riot in Osogbo as some youths blocked strategic roads, thereby creating tension.
Similarly, operatives of the Ilorin Zonal Office of the EFCC on Tuesday arrested five suspected internet fraudsters also known as “Yahoo-Yahoo Boys” at the Ilorin International Airport.
The suspects were arrested for various offences bordering on cybercrime sequel to intelligence gathered by the commission about their arrival in Ilorin.
It was gathered that all of them flew from Lagos to Ilorin on Monday, April 17, 2021.
Those arrested were Oladosu Olakunmi Olamilekan, Olaoye Jamiu Olarewaju, Alimi Abiodun, Toheed Muritala and Afolabi Kamaldeen.
Four of them are students of Kwara State University, KWASU, Malete and a student of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin according to a top source in the Ilorin office of the commission who does not want his name in print.
Upon arrest, items recovered from them include a Mercedes Benz C300, phones and laptop.
The suspects who are said to have confessed to the crime “Volunteered useful statements to the Commission and will be arraigned in court as soon as investigations are concluded,” the source added.
