Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have rescued two kidnap victims identified as Okeke Emmanuel 37 and Rilwan Adewale, 36, who were kidnapped in Benin City by gunmen.
The victims it was learnt were rescued along Lagos Bypass by Ahor community, Benin City on April 25.

They were traveling on a Sienna bus from Port Harcourt to Lagos when three of them were kidnapped by the gunmen and taken into the bush where they also met other victims.
Addressing journalists in Benin City on Thursday, the state commissioner of police, Philip Aliyu Ogbadu, said, “On receipt of the information on kidnapping, the police operatives immediately swung into action and rescued two of the victims after a gun battle with the hoodlums.
He said that in the process, one of the victims, Adewale Rilwan, sustained injuries from a matchet used on him by the hoodlums and is receiving treatment in the hospital.
He said during the operation, N200,000 was recovered from the scene, adding that an investigation is in progress to clamp down on the fleeing kidnappers.
