Kano State Government is targeting year 2035 for complete eradication of malaria from the state.
The state Commissioner for Health, Dr Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa, disclosed this while responding to questions from newsmen at a press briefing making this year’s world malaria day.

He said: “In Kano, malaria is the single most common cause for hospital outpatient visits with 60 percent and also accounts for 30% hospital admissions.”

He disclosed that in the year 2020 alone over 3.7million hospital visits were recorded across the state as a result of malaria, which he described as a preventable and curable disease.
