The Committee Chairman, Alhaji Lawal Yusuf-Shema while donating the items to the officials of Katsina orphanage in the state capital said similar items were handed over to Hospital Friends in Daura and Funtua General Hospitals, for distribution to less privileged patients.
He said the items were purchased from donations received from some wealthy individuals, as their contributions toward assisting the plights of the poor in the society. According to him, the Forum would also extend such assistance to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps, poor students and other needy in the society.
In his remarks, the officer in charge of the Home, Malam Muhammad Nura, thanked the organisation for the assistance and assured that the items would be used for the purpose they were meant for.
Nura cited a Prophetic tradition where the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) encouraged Muslims to assist the needy.
